Character rescues in the October demo

Follow question-mark objectives to find character-rescue encounters. The current-demo IGN hands-on reports rescuing Trooper Bartosz Kozlowski from a circle of enemies and finding the Legend of Catachan guarded by Warriors. Prepare to fight at the objective rather than treating it as a free pickup.

The preview author rescued Kozlowski from a circle of enemies. Approach the question-mark objective with enough room to handle the fight, then finish the encounter. This current report does not give a fixed level, enemy count or precise interaction requirement.

Rescue and ally selection are different

The hands-on also describes selecting the Lasgun to bring the rescued Trooper into a run as an ally. That weapon choice is the reported ally example, not the condition that rescued him. For the Lasgun's reported evolution, see Lasgun + Gauntlet → Meltagun.

The Catachan encounter needs preparation

The same hands-on reports a guarded Catachan objective with a strengthening effect among the surrounding enemies. For that encounter’s specific danger and his grenade evolution, use the Legend of Catachan guide.

Build up the run before taking on an objective that overwhelms you. This is our preparation advice, not a hidden unlock level or a fixed route requirement.

The two new demo heroes

The October announcement adds the Legend of Catachan and Lyssa Revenya to the demo. The sources here do not provide a complete Lyssa rescue route, so this guide does not invent one or claim to cover the entire playable roster.

After a rescue, use the weapon evolution lookup to choose a reported companion pairing, or check what happens to demo progress.
