Nuln Oil: Hourglass and fire synergy

Nuln Oil + Hourglass → Mordant Earth is reported for both Age of Sigmar and Warhammer 40,000. The base Nuln Oil weapon also applies Oiled, which increases the damage caused by fire attacks.

The same reported pairing appears in both universe lists. This example shows the Age of Sigmar entry; the 40k entry uses the same inputs and result.

Plan the synergy separately from the evolution

Having the Hourglass companion is the reported evolution pairing. Applying Oil and adding fire damage is a separate combat interaction; it does not prove Hourglass grants fire, or that Mordant Earth keeps every base-weapon status.

The August developer explanation and current hands-on support the base oil/fire relationship. Burning also makes affected enemies move faster, so do not mistake stronger fire damage for a slowing effect. Our advice is to keep movement space when combining the two, especially near a dense crowd.

Nuln, “Nuin” and the two entries

The old May post spells the weapon “Nuin Oil”; the current report uses Nuln Oil. Both May and October list the Oil + Hourglass pairing. The October report names the result Mordant Earth. The October list contains one unique recipe with two universe memberships, not two different results or permission to combine 40k and Age of Sigmar equipment in one run.
