Neave Blacktalon: Tempest Axes to Whirlwind Axes
In the October demo, Neave Blacktalon starts with Tempest Axes; the reported companion is Sabaton, producing Whirlwind Axes. The current IGN hands-on describes this path as well as the community recipe table.
Why choose Sabaton for this path?
The hands-on identifies Sabaton as a movement-speed improvement, and describes choosing and levelling it before the axes evolve. That makes it a concrete item to look for when learning Neave’s route, with a movement benefit as well as a documented pairing.
The account describes lightning after the evolution, without providing a damage multiplier, exact item level or universal chest rule. Use the pairing as the plan, rather than an invented level checklist.
Why older descriptions use Whirlwind as the start
The first-survivors announcement from November 2025 calls Neave’s starting weapon Whirlwind Axes. The October 2026 hands-on and recipe report instead use Tempest Axes → Whirlwind Axes. This guide uses the newer current-demo names, so Whirlwind Axes is the evolved result here.
Do not confuse that result with the 40k Whirlwind Battery, which follows a different recipe.
